The first posthumous retrospective of Rauschenberg’s work in the UK, as well as the first comprehensive survey exhibition in almost twenty years. Bringing together a selection of key works from different periods, this book provides a long overdue opportunity to discover an artistic trajectory which steadfastly refused to be straightjacketed by rules and conventions. Each chapter of Rauschenberg’s six-decade career is represented by major works, with an introduction by Leah Dickerman, fourteen essays focusing on different key moments in Rauschenberg’s career, plus a glossary compiled by Achim Borchardt-Hume.
